Welcome to Iceland Guide!
Qualification makes the difference

Iceland Guide is a newly established group aiming to promote well educated and qualified guides. We believe that quality guiding is an essential part of providing our visitors with a wonderful and unforgettable experience in Iceland.

All Iceland Guides are certified tourist guides. They have graduated from The Iceland Tourist Guide School which is the only institution in Iceland that provides comprehensive training for guides, is approved by the Ministry of Education and authorised by the Icelandic Tourist Board.

Although our guides graduated from Guide School specialising in certain languages as stated in their profiles, many are willing and capable of guiding in other languages. Just ask! All Iceland Guides speak and are able to guide in Icelandic as well.

The Iceland Guides come from all walks of life, are of different ages, have diverse backgrounds, education, professions, experience, interests and nationalities. What they all have in common is their love for Iceland, their knowledge, passion and willingness to share it with visitors from all over the world.

The Iceland Guides are experts in Icelandic history, language, literature, geology, art and culture - just to name a few things - they enjoy the company of people and life in general. They have experience in leading visitors around this unique country, full of lava fields, glaciers, hot springs, desert sands, volcanoes, black beaches, fishing villages, hidden people, ancient stories, folk tales and then some!

All Iceland Guides are presented here as individuals and should be contacted directly through the contact details provided in their profiles. Please mention this site when contacting the guide of your choice.

We welcome your views and if you would like to comment on your experience with our Iceland Guides, please email the site administrator icelandguide(at)icelandguide.is.
